Connecting to the Network

If you are a land developer or a potential major end use customer and you wish to find information regarding the availability of reticulated gas in the vicinity of your development, the first point of contact is WestNet Energy who provides asset management, operational, construction and maintenance services to the owners of the WA Gas Networks gas distribution system.

Having gained preliminary information from WestNet Energy, if you wish to pursue the provision of reticulated gas to your development, it will be necessary to contact a Gas Retailer in your supply area to negotiate a gas supply contract.

Your gas retailer of choice should contact WestNet Energy to obtain a quotation for the necessary gas connection infrastructure. When your Retailer has received the infrastructure quotation from WestNet Energy they will be able to complete the commercial arrangements with you.

Land Developers
If you are a LAND DEVELOPER, the following information will be required by WestNet Energy:

• Number of lots planned
• Average size of the Lots
• Type of development - Commercial/Industrial/Residential
• Proposed Timeframes
• More information on request

End use Customers
If you are an END USE (Commercial/Industrial) customer, the following information will be required:

• Maximum hourly demand (GJ / per hour)
• Annual quantity required (TJ / annum)
• Required gas supply pressure (KPA)

Gas Availability
The WA Gas Networks distribution networks reticulate to Perth, Rockingham, Mandurah, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Bunbury, Brunswick and Harvey, Busselton and Albany.
